Early Bird Sneak Peek: “Caught in a Trap”!

June 30, 2016

Hi all! It’s time for another Early Bird Sneak Peek, where I share a glimpse at the story my lucky Early Bird patrons will be enjoying next Saturday thanks to their pledges at my Patreon page! Of course, if you’re not an Early Bird patron, you’ll get two stories next week–“Weird” and “Girl Crush”, previously teased as Early Bird stories, have already been submitted to the EMCSA. But the Early Bird patrons will be getting “Caught in a Trap”! (MC FF)

Joanne’s friend Cici has been seduced and ensnared by Natalya, an unscrupulous fashion designer who supposedly has ways of bringing women under her control. Joanne knows she has to get Cici back…but she also knows that it’s Joanne that Natalya really wants.

Here’s a taste:

“Oh, yes, Cici,” Natalya said, her face brightening into a dazzling smile. “Such a darling girl, don’t you think? We’ve already become such fast friends.” The smile faded into calculated confusion. “I’m sorry–you thought she was here?”

Joanne kept her mouth set in a firm line. “Are you going to try to pretend she’s not? We both know that you were seen with her at the Marquis Club last week, and that the two of you left together. She hasn’t been to her classes or back to her apartment since, and nobody’s been able to reach her by phone. I spoke with her professor, and he said you’d arranged for Cici to do some ‘independent study’ with you. I don’t know what she’s studying, but I’m quite sure she’s studying it here.”

For just a fraction of an instant, Joanne saw the calculating look cross Natalya’s face. It was gone almost before it could register as anything more than a subliminal impression, but she knew it was there. “Cici, of course,” Natalya said, as though she hadn’t tried to suggest anything else. “She’s resting up a bit at the moment, I’m afraid we had something of a late night. She’ll be joining us momentarily.” She gestured to a pair of chairs set across from each other. “Shall we sit and chat while we wait?”

Hope you enjoy it!

What Makes a Caption

June 26, 2016

(This post has been brought to you by the efforts of my 35 cherished and lovely Patrons! Visit my Patreon page to learn how to become one of them.)

For those of you who may have been unaware, I have a Tumblr page in addition to this blog and in addition to my stories. Because that’s masochism for a writer, taking on an insane workload. My Tumblr page is here, and for those of you who want to get it down to the “good stuff”, here’s a link to the posts I make that are solely flash fiction themed around pictures I see and reblog.

Since this has gotten to be something I do pretty often (daily, give or take) I thought I might take a moment and explain how it is that I come up with my captions. Unsurprisingly, it starts with the picture. More specifically, though, it starts with the face.

I know that sounds odd, because I am writing smutty captions, and everyone associates sex with bodies. But captions are stories, and stories are about people, and a person’s story is really written in their face. All these people might be naked, but their faces show how they feel about it. Are they confident? Shy? Blissful? Nervous? Distracted? That’s where the story comes from. I look for images that come across my feed where the person’s face feels like it’s telling me a story, and I work from there.

Most of the time, you can group the faces into two types (roughly). The first group is confident faces. These are people who are looking right into the camera, sometimes with a serious expression, other times with a grin, but always with a look that directly engages and challenges the viewer. They may be nude, but you can tell from the look on their face that they’re comfortable with it and actually feel as though they’re in control of the situation. These tend to be my “dominant” captions.

The other type of person tends to have a distracted, or possibly blissful expression on their face. They’re either not thinking about anything at all, or their minds are deeply focused on the moment they’re experiencing. Sometimes they may have just a hint of that distracted expression, as though they’re losing track of their surroundings because they’re starting to pay closer attention to a single image. These are my “submissive” captions.

Beyond that, it’s a matter of noticing little details in the picture and finding ways to work them into the flash fiction, trying to evoke the sense that the picture you see above each caption is a moment from a larger story (which is, in turn, a selected moment from a larger story still. You can always find more and more story to tell; sometimes the skill is knowing what to merely hint at.) Each picture tells a story, and while I understand that it’s a story I make up, I sometimes feel as though I’m just describing what’s happening. And I hope that’s how my readers feel.

One other thing–I’ve gotten some appreciative comments in the past on my use of a variety of races, genders, and orientations in my captions. That’s something important to me and something I’m going to try to continue with. I know it sounds silly, suggesting that representation is important in porn, but it’s true. People deserve to see that they can have a sex life regardless of race, gender or body type, and if this tells even one person that it’s okay to be hypnokinky and that being different doesn’t mean you’re not welcome, then I’m proud to have done it. And if it tells even one person that it’s okay to be attracted to someone who’s different, even better!

And of course, these captions are also things you can help to support with your Patreon bucks. There’s not a specific reward tier for them, but please do understand that the more people supporting my smut, the more smut you get in all its different forms. So thank you to those helping to make these captions possible.

Early Bird Sneak Peek: “Girl Crush”!

June 23, 2016

Hi all! It’s time for another Early Bird Sneak Peek, where I share a glimpse at the story my lucky Early Bird patrons will be enjoying next Saturday thanks to their pledges at my Patreon page! Simon’s taking a break next week, but “Weird”, last week’s Early Bird Reward story, will be up at Literotica (and on the EMCSA in two weeks’ time). But the Early Bird patrons will be getting “Girl Crush”! (MC FF)

Ever wonder what might happen if someone got a Girl(tm) who wasn’t single? Or what might happen if they kept their Girl(tm) a secret from their partner? And if their partner found out? Well, Fern just found out about her husband’s Girl(tm). She’s got a plan involving a junkyard and her own little “Girl crush”.

Some plans go better than others…

Here’s a taste:

She slid aside one of the pieces of plywood leaned against the wall, and there it was. Jerry’s Girl(tm). It was a shade of robin’s-egg blue that Fern would probably have found quite pretty under other circumstances, and it sat on the floor with its knees pulled up to its chest, staring down at the floor with a pose that Fern couldn’t help but interpret as slightly dejected.

It looked up at Fern and a warm smile crossed its plastic face. “Hello,” it said. “You must be Fern. Jerry and I have talked about you.”

It took a lot of Fern’s self-control not to just go grab Jerry’s chainsaw and go to work on the bitch. But she had something better in mind. “Get up and come with me,” she said, hoping that Jerry didn’t have any kind of password or voice lock or something for it.

“Of course,” the Girl said, standing up and brushing off a few flakes of sawdust. “Where are we going?”

Fern smiled tightly. “It’s a surprise,” she said, leading the Girl out of the workshop. She locked the door behind her again, although she didn’t see much of a point. Jerry would figure out what had happened pretty quickly. Even if he didn’t, she was going to film every second of what she was about to do.

Hope you enjoy it!

Reassuring the Hypnokinky

June 21, 2016

(This post has been brought to you by the efforts of my 36 transcendent and splendiferous Patrons! Visit my Patreon page to learn how to become one of them.)

The other day, someone posted to Tumblr about their interest in hypnokink, and tagged me in the post. (Mostly to say that they read my stories, which awwwwww!) They asked a lot of good questions and said a lot of good things, but there was one thing in particular they said that I thought might be a universal enough worry that I should blog about it:

“I’ve tried various audio files and I don’t think I’ve ever been able to achieve a trance state – I wonder if that’s my chronic insomnia, the fact that my mind never stops or just that I’m not very susceptible to hypnosis.”

(Their full post is here.)

This is not an uncommon worry among those new to hypnosis. Part of it, I think, is that after months and years of fantasizing about being hypnotized, we’re all a little worried deep down that it won’t work and we’ll never get to do all the cool things we’ve been dreaming of (or have all the cool things we’ve been dreaming of done to us). But really, I want to reassure you that yes, you can be hypnotized. In fact, you probably have been.

The thing about listening to audio files that’s kind of deceptive, especially when you have no other trance experience to compare it with, is that you’re generally alone when you listen to them. (Especially if you’re experimenting with hypnokink and listening to erotic files.) You’re in an environment where it’s generally pretty natural to focus your attention on whatever you’re watching or listening, and it really doesn’t feel that much different from the experience of listening intently to music or getting immersed in a movie. (Which are also trance experiences.)

As a result, there’s never really a period where you’re asked to really confront the reality of your experience. If the hypnotist in the audio file is any good, they’re going to bring you out of the trance fairly smoothly and carefully, primarily because that’s the ethical thing to do when you can’t be there to provide aftercare personally, so you won’t have that sensation of waking to give you any real sense of how deep you were a few moments ago. That makes it easy to tell yourself you weren’t “really” in trance, or that if you were, you weren’t that deep.

And suggestions…I’ve talked about this before, but the tricksy thing about a hypnotic suggestion is that your brain is good at convincing you it’s all your own idea even when you straight out know you’re following a post-hypnotic compulsion. Your hands aren’t really stuck to the wall; you just don’t want to move them right now. You weren’t really following a suggestion to strip naked; you were just hot. (You probably get the idea.) When you’re not used to hypnosis in general, it’s very easy to convince yourself that you’re just “playing along” with the suggestions in an audio file.

These two things, taken together, make it very easy to feel like an audio file isn’t doing the job. And to be honest, it may not be…at least, not as well as a person would. An audio file can’t adjust to the way you process information, it can’t take note of what seems to be affecting you most deeply and emphasize that, and it can’t pet your hair while it talks until you feel warm and floaty and cuddled and drowsy.

…um…not that I’m admitting anything, there.

But just because an audio file can’t hpnotize you as well as a person, that doesn’t mean it can’t hypnotize you. If you listen to those files, especially if you go back and listen to them repeatedly “just to see if they work better this time”, and certainly not because you’re following a suggestion to come back and listen again and again and again, you’re going to be hypnotized.

Which is why everyone offers the same advice to novice hypnophiles: Fast-forward to the middle, listen to the suggestions first, and then go back and listen to the whole thing if you’re comfortable with what it tells you to do. Because you might not think you’re being affected…but that’s just one more sign that it’s working.

Early Bird Sneak Peek: “Weird”!

June 16, 2016

Hi all! It’s time for another Early Bird Sneak Peek, where I share a glimpse at the story my lucky Early Bird patrons will be enjoying next Saturday thanks to their pledges at my Patreon page! Of course, if you’re not an Early Bird patron, you’ll still get a story next week–“Open Wide”, teased as last week’s Early Bird story, has already been submitted to the EMCSA. But the Early Bird patrons will be getting “Weird”! (MC FF)

On a late-night subway ride, Tanisha is accosted by a gothy woman who’s strange. Well, not just strange…downright weird. In all the senses of the word. Here’s a taste:

The weird girl cackled. An actual, honest to god cackle that ripped the air as it echoed through the empty subway car. “You should see your eyes!” she said, between bouts of laughter that made the top hat wobble alarmingly on her head. “They’re the size of silver dollars!” She snorted out a final guffaw before getting herself under control. “You don’t have to feel bad,” she said. “I am weird.”

Tanisha avoided rolling her eyes with a supreme effort of will. Why did some people always have to pretend ‘weird’ was like a video game achievement? “Um, yeah, that’s great,” she said, reaching for her purse, “and I’d love to talk more, but this is my stop coming up so…” She trailed off into an apologetic shrug as she stood up. Actually, the stop was nowhere near her apartment, but she’d wait for another train. Weird Girl was seriously creeping her out.

The train didn’t stop. It just kept rattling through the station without even slowing, the windows outside briefly reflecting dingy yellow light before the blackness came down again like a shutter. Tanisha sat back down, trying not to let the disappointment show on her face. They must have converted this route to an express for the overnight runs.

“It’s okay,” Weird Girl said. “That just gives us more time to talk. Like you were hoping.” She let out a short, explosive chuckle that suggested she knew full well what Tanisha was doing a moment ago. “Do you know what it means when you call someone ‘weird’?”

Hope you enjoy it!

Liner Notes for May 2016

June 12, 2016

(This post has been brought to you by the efforts of my 39 sensational and spectacular Patrons! Visit my Patreon page to learn how to become one of them.)

Another month has gone by, which means it’s time for me to talk a little bit about the creative process that goes into writing the stories for that month. As always, we go in chronological order, starting with…

Rosewater: This one began, as my stories often do, with seeing the title and making associations. My immediate association with rosewater (technically the song is about a place named “Rosewater”, and not “rose water”, but who’s keeping track?) is with rose syrup, and its use in making desserts. I had a co-worker who would bring in little cakes soaked in rose syrup, and it’s a very distinct flavor that you don’t see often in Western cuisine.

So I knew that Manisha would be of Indian extraction, and I knew that she would use rosewater as an anchor because the idea of smell and taste as induction is lovely. And I knew that it would be a consensual relationship, because I like consensual hypno stories (I’m sort of living one!) and that the rosewater would send Courtney into trance. Plant misters, slippery syrup, and showers were just sort of ways that the story accumulated into place as it rolled downhill, basically.

Drain You: I will freely admit to having succubi on the brain a bit ever since reading Madam Kistulot’s “Absolution”. Something about her descriptions of Taylor’s will being drained away, and her slowly and permanently losing not her mind but her volition and will to resist, stuck with me pretty hard. So when I saw “Drain You”, my mind went back to that story and I tried to write something that was original, but that captured the things I most liked about Madam Kistulot’s longer and more elaborate work.

Obviously, it’s designed with a good deal of ambiguity. It was my intent that yes, Desiderata really was a succubus and part of Corey’s growing submission to her control involves him eliding over the way that he has less and less resistance to her. But I wanted people to be able to take it as a more-or-less consensual hypnokinky relationship if they so chose.

My Trance Girl: This one was…let’s just say heavily inspired…by my recent experiences on Tumblr. (I know, you didn’t see that coming at all!) It felt a bit weird, writing about other people complimenting a thinly-fictionalized version of me; I had to work hard not to see it as self-indulgent vanity of the highest order. But it was written with a real-life person in mind who said many of those things, so I wanted to try to capture that element.

(Note that I’m not saying “Rachel” was that person, only that the person in question inspired Rachel. Sometimes when you’re writing about someone, all you can really do is create a character and hope the comparison is flattering.)

Eye for an Eye: I saw this title and immediately though, “Oooh, hypnotic revenge!” Then I thought about it for a second more and said, “Wait, is it really revenge to hypnotize someone into having sex with you just like they hypnotized you into having sex with them?” Then I realized that was actually a really amusing concept, and made it the hook for the story with a post-hypnotic suggestion providing the impetus for Ivy’s “vengeance”. Certainly not the only “please don’t throw me into that briar patch” post-hyp based story out there, but I like to think this one is an enjoyable take.

And that’s the Liner Notes for this month. See you next week for more blogging, and next month for more liner notes!

Early Bird Sneak Peek: “Open Wide”!

June 9, 2016

Hi all! It’s time for another Early Bird Sneak Peek, where I share a glimpse at the story my lucky Early Bird patrons will be enjoying next Saturday thanks to their pledges at my Patreon page! Of course, if you’re not an Early Bird patron, you’ll still get a story next week–“X Marks the Spot”, teased as last week’s Early Bird story, has already been submitted to the EMCSA. But the Early Bird patrons will be getting “Open Wide”! (MC MF MD)

Candace has been having a little trouble lately with her fantasies. Namely, they’re all getting fulfilled…and they’re all about surrendering even deeper to Paul’s power. She has a little talk on the subject..

It’s not that I want to stop.

I hear the sound of a key in the lock, and at first I wonder who else has a key to my apartment. But then I feel the tiniest swirl of pleasure at the back of my mind, a subtle but insistent reminder that it feels better not to think about some things. This is one of the things I don’t need to think about, so it makes me happy to let the thought slide right out of my mind and focus my thoughts on something else as the door opens.

I don’t want to stop. If anything, I want to push my limits a little. I want to do things I might have said ‘no’ to, back at the beginning, just to prove to myself that it’s really working. That idea…it’s so fucking hot.

“Hi!” I say as Paul walks into the room. I’m a little surprised to see him, because I thought our next date was on Tuesday, but i kind of remember mentioning to him that I would be staying home today without any plans for the afternoon. Except that weirdly enough, I remember it in his voice. Memory’s a funny thing, isn’t it? It’s so easy to let it play tricks on you, and so silly to worry about it.

But I wonder sometimes…is that feeling really my feeling? Or is it one that Master put there? Am I exploring my boundaries, or is he slowly eroding them, bit by bit, with hypnosis and pleasure?

“Open wide,” he says, and suddenly my body feels so warm and lazy that I just slump into a boneless heap on the couch. The book I was reading falls out of my hand to land on the floor, and I feel my body listing to one side like a sinking ship as the slump turns gently and easily into a collapse. My eyes close all on their own, stuck shut so impossibly tightly that all I can achieve when I try to open them is exhausting myself further.

Hope you enjoy it!

Hypno-Highlight of the Week: “The War Machines”

June 6, 2016

Just got done with a Doctor Who convention that left me a little bit too wiped for the usual clever and witty stuff, but I promised a bonus blog post a week so here’s a pointer to a bit of Who-themed hypno material I saw this weekend.

“The War Machines” is all about the brainwashing, actually; the main plot involves a supercomputer that becomes sentient, decides it can do a better job running humanity, and connects itself to other computers in a vast worldwide network. (It’s the 1966 version of ‘Person of Interest’, basically.) The computer can hypnotize anyone who comes into direct contact with it, and it can also send a hypnotic signal over the phone lines.

Much of the brainwashing involves middle-aged scientists (although if you have a male sexual orientation one or two of them have some things to recommend them) but there are some nice sequences with Anneke Wills as Polly–quite beautiful even now, but in 1966 practically the platonic ideal of the leggy blonde–staring imperiously into the middle distance and declaring her allegiance to the machine overlords. It’s still pretty methadone for hypno-cravings, but not bad.

And next week, I’ll do some liner notes, I promise.

Early Bird Sneak Peek: “X Marks the Spot”!

June 2, 2016

Hi all! It’s time for another Early Bird Sneak Peek, where I share a glimpse at the story my lucky Early Bird patrons will be enjoying next Saturday thanks to their pledges at my Patreon page! Of course, if you’re not an Early Bird patron, you’ll still get a story next week–“Neuromancer”, teased as last week’s Early Bird story, has already been submitted to the EMCSA. But the Early Bird patrons will be getting “X Marks the Spot”! (MC MF MD)

Jennifer has agreed to do an erotic hypnosis video for Will, but there’s just one problem: He seems to have forgotten the hypnosis part. And the erotic part. He hasn’t done anything to her at all, in fact. Or…has he? (Insert musical sting!)

Here’s a taste:

Will stepped out in front of the camera, and stood next to where she sat on the sofa. “And what would you say,” he asked, “if I told you that I did hypnotize you, and you were a very good hypnotic subject?”

Jennifer knew exactly what to say to that. “I have never been hypnotized,” she said calmly, looking straight into the camera with her soft brown eyes wide open and earnest, as if to convince her future audience of the fact. She didn’t need convincing; she knew with total conviction that she hadn’t gone into trance. She’d never been more sure of anything in her life.

“Oh. Okay,” Will said, his tone nonchalant. Jennifer was a little bit surprised. She almost expected him to put up more of an argument. Or maybe to take the pendant out again and try to hypnotize her for real this time. But instead, he just stood there, looking up at the ceiling like he was putting all his energy into trying to get butter to melt in his mouth.

“Of course,” he said after a long pause, “I can think of a way to prove you’ve been hypnotized.” He looked back down at her. “If you’re interested.”

Hope you enjoy it!
